Kaliba Sp z o.o. was founded in 1998 in The Economic Zone in Kamienna Góra. Our company is situated in very picturesque place far from city noise, but close to main roads and highways. In our comapny, there are hygienic-sanitary standards.

During the production of our film no harmful substances polluting air and water are released. In addition, the new technology allows you to reduce the technology waste by 50%, to the necessary minimum.

INNOVATIONS

Our technology

The production of PAPE flexible film in Kalibra Sp. z o.o. utilizes blow molding technology, with the innovative cooling system of the extruded sleeve. Rapid cooling of the blown film sleeve is achieved by moving it through a water-bath tank at a controlled, low temperature. During fast cooling, the amorphous structure freezes. The optical and mechanical properties of the film, its transparency, gloss and thermoformability, depend on the proportion of the crystalline phase. The smaller the proportion of the crystalline phase, compared to the amorphous one, the better. A similar phenomenon occurs in the production of glass.
BASF, one of the main producers of polyamide, with the trade name Ultramid. [1], has issued a publication which is worth mentioning at this point. It presents the relationship between the crystallinity and thermoformability of a 50 μ-PA film from Ultramid; crystallinity being expressed as a percentage of haze, and thermoformability, defined as the its thinnest points of the film, in formed shapes. At crystallinity of 38% and 2.8% haze, the measured thickness of the film at its thinnest points was 12μ. With a crystallinity of 20% and 0.4% haze, the measured film thickness at its thinnest points, reaching 18μ was vividly higher.
High transparency of the film produced by Kalibra Sp. z o.o., with the coefficient of light transmission well above 90%, indicates a high proportion of the amorphous phase, and hence confirms the extremely good thermoformability of the multilayer films produced by Kalibra. Such a high proportion of the amorphous phase is not achievable with other technologies of co-extruded, PA based films production.
Kalibra produces multilayer co-extruded films within the thickness range of 65 to 280μ. These are 6-layer-films with the PA / adh * / PA / adh / PE / PE structure, where adh * is a binding polymer. The distribution of the PA layer into two independent ones is an additional advantage which ensures achieving higher strength of the formed packaging when compared to a single layer of the same thickness. This feature is critical for packaging corner and thus enables to increase the forming depth.
The range of multilayer films produced by Kalibra includes EVOH based solutions, with increased oxygen barrier.
And the types with a weldable PP layer, will additionally enable pasteurization of products packed in such films.
The particularly high puncture resistance of the co-extruded multilayer films, produced by Kalibra, is another strong advantage. A good example here will be packaging of sharp products, such as chicken wings, which are now packed by one of Kalibra customers in a 10% thinner film as compared to previously used, with no negative effect on the packaging process and the quality of the packaging produced.
